Title should read: Most abusalbe folder:
was just looking at another thread, and it started me thinking about which knife is the most "abusable" for you. Which knife do grab to pry with, to scrape, to cut conconcrete, whatever, without giving a second thought of messing it up. For me, it's the Cold Steels, I have a Voyager that I never thought twice about slapping it around. I have some linerlocks, but for hardcore abuse, I don't trust them. Also, I have a smaller Opinel that I don't hold back with, either, but it's too small and think to take the punishment I dish out with my CS.

Got an old Endura. Can't believe the amount of punishment that this knife will take and keep coming back for more.

ive never used it but it seemes that you could destroy a house with an extrema ratio fulcrum

Ever since I found this place (and BenchMade) my old CS Voyager is my beater. It does all the stuff I would never do with my $100+ knives, especially work around machinery.

My work in the yard, cut roots in the dirt, abuse and do everything with knife is an original Spyderco Native, one of the all-time great knife bargains.

I've used my Ka-Bar Mule for just about every job imaginable around the farm, and it just keeps on working.

Opinel #9. Each time I go to the knife shop to get something, I get one or two extra Opis. They are dirt cheap and will get the job done. I had to reground the tip on one of them, but that was easy (and I rather like how it turned out).

My usual beater, however, is a fixed blade. A mora, as cheap as the Opinels and a tad stronger.

I have a Buck Alpha Folding Hunter that was abused due to special circumstances: the damned mule carrying my fixed blade and most of my stuff decided to fall into a crevasse in the Andes. The Alpha had to replace a few tools until I could find a way to get to the mule and recover my stuff. The blade is scratched, but it worked well even after being soaking wet for a couple of days (storm season and falling into a river).

strider is probably the toughest folder, extrema ratio fulcrum or nemisis is toughest production folder imho, imho the ER is more "heavy duty" than a buck/strider 880.

I bet a Sebbie would make the best beater knife :footinmou , I'm sure no ones been beating it though. Maybe when I make my first million.... :D

BTW, I know Sebbies and striders are built to take it, but you don't always want to use them for your "hardcord" jobs where you know a knife isn't the best tool. When I say most abuseable, I'm not asking which knife can handle it the best, I'm asking (in your opinion) which knife is just asking for it. IMO, most of these are going to be a little less expensive. (You could also say what I'm asking is what are your toughest beaters)

buck strider 880 tanto , cold steel recon1, super knife does very well for things like cuting insulation , tar paper and other things you dont want on a blade that might have to cut an apple later in the day.

I want to second the Buck Strider Tanto. When I had mine I used it without hesitation for everything from cutting heavy duty cardboard, plastic and wire to prying small boxes  and it never once quit on me. After months of use and intentional minimal maintenance it still looked and acted as though new.
Definitely a quality product from an above quality manufacturer.

I can't see the logic in paying alot of money for a knife that you're going to cut concrete with and pry with.

So, some of the strongest most abusable folders that will not cost much to replace are:

Buck 110
Buck 112
Schrade LB7
Spyderco SS Endura (aka Endura II)
CRKT BladeLock

Good luck,
Allen.

I would have to say my ColdSteel bushman gets a lot of abuse for things like yard chores and things around the house. It is really hard to beat the $15.00 I paid for mine.

The best folder for abuse would have to be CS Trailguide. Since I live in the desert rust is not a problem. The carbon V usually back to utility sharp after a few licks on any sharpening medium.

I'd go with either the Buck 110 or the Spyderco Endura. Either of those will suffer alot of use and abuse and still come back for more. ;)

Uh, well, I've got a lot of those "super tough" knives scattered around--a Battle Rat, a couple of BK9's, a BK7, a RAT7, Kabar USMC, Fallkniven F1, etc. They always seemed to be elsewhere when I needed them. My old Spyderco Endura never failed me. I think I'll get that old beat-to-hell knife framed.
