Gotta be "The Fan" by Tony Scott,

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0116277

with Bobby De Niro as a no-life, violent, sociopath deadbeat scumbag of a baseball fan AND a salesman for a knife company. Knifesturbates at home, throws knives, kills friend with baseball bat, kidnaps a child, gives child a knife to play with, gets multiple rounds in the upper torso, dies.

You know, a typical knife nut just like you and me!

Not to mention the other crappy tv-film I saw the night after that, the name was probably Cruel Justice or something like that, the bad guy was a rich, spoiled kid who raped chicks at knifepoint and terrorized the city street with his tiny OTF that looked like something from the under-$5 range. How original.

I agree with you on the movie. It did paint a bad picture of knife aficionados.
I love knives...have always and WILL always love them and carry one BUT...a lot of people glamorize the WEAPON aspect of knives too much.

I liked The Fan. Thought it was cool that they Spydie dropped proto Gerber EZ Outs. I still can't manage to stick a giant cockroach with a throwing knife, though :p

I enjoyed the movie also. How about when they stabbed the knife through the car door(hood?)and said,"no not a great knife a pos door".:D Someone on that film wasn't a Cold Steel fan.

Let's not forget "The Jagged Edge" with Glenn Close and Jeff Bridges. The cause of the mayhem was a great big bowie with sawback teeth on the spine. Every time it appeared, the soundtrack would turn scary and the suspense would build. It probably ruined the practicality of a big hunting style knife to a lot of Sheeple who had otherwise not thought about it.
