Most Awesome Keychains

Just curious what useful options exist for keychains as it's probably time for me to upgrade. What does everyone carry and consider their most useful keychain gadget?

Leatherman Squirt P4 and a small LED like this:

I've tried other stuff but keep ending up with these two.

- Fenix E01: AAA backup light; 8+ hours of regulated runtime, with several hours of diminishing light thereafter. $15.
- Leatherman Squirt PS4. Pliers, scissor, blade, file, drivers, cap lifter, wire cutter. Awesome.
- Atwood pry tool and flathead driver
- Countycomm phillips driver
- Fox 40 Micro whistle

I've tried to find the smallest tools with the most utility. Always trying to minimize. Some guys carry 30 things on a giant ring, but thats not for me. The chicks don't dig it.

Keys go on a separate ring, as I can't stand a giant mass of keys and toys banging against the steering column. :)

PS4 unfurled.

Okay. I stand corrected. The Squirt PS4 is the most awesome. :(

I bought my P4 soon after they came out. I didn't know it was offered with scissors now. I had a hard time deciding between the P4 and the S4. Looks like problem solved. Thanks PN.

I have a whistle, tweezers, photon LED, LMF firesteel, and a spy capsule that has 3 safety pins and cotton tinder inside.

I'e upgraded most of these gadgets, and the chain, too. On the other end of the chain is my keyring. The utility (gadget) ring clips in a toy carabiner on my belt, and the keys drop into my pocket.

It's especially handy during the winter, because fumbling with keys doesn't matter: they drop to the length of the chain and I pull them back up and try again, even with gloves on.

The Vic MiniChamp is the most useful keychain-sized tool I've found so far. I've had mine on my keys for three years now, with no plans on replacing it anytime soon/ ever.

I also have a GEC blade opener with stag scales, which has proven itself a valuable prytool/ package opener/ poker/ prodder many times over. I also have a little squeeze LED light, firesteel, and Smith & Wesson key, in case one of my revolvers ever decides to lock itself up.

The "keychain" itself is similar to the "mechanics keyrings" that CountyComm sells, (the wire cable type) but heavier-duty, and nicer. I found it at my local old-school hardware shop. It's awesome.
My keychain also serves as a toy for my two-year old. Whenever we're out somewhere and he's bored with whatever toys he's brought with him, I just hand him my keys. He's fascinated by them.

Where did you find the chain in that picture...? I'm looking for that one - how long is it? :D

You can see mine in the far corner on the left. I make them and sell them, just not on BF because I don't want to spend money to sell my own stuff; I just take them to free forums. First gen one had a small prybar and a screwdriver, the ones I make now have a take down wrench for a Strider on the top. Ti construction.

this makes no sense. you already have the membership, therefore have already spent the money, and with the membership have the option to sell pretty much anything on the exchange, which you already do.

and spending money to sell one's stuff is quite common, its called advertising.

nice stuff, btw.

I've been told by mods that I can't sell stuff I make unless I have a knifemaker membership. I can sell only things that other people make. I think its retarded lol, but that's apparently the rule.

This is what I usually have on the keyring:

- SAK. Currently a Victorinox Classic. Its tools are very useful and the bright stayglow scales improve the visibility of my keyring.

- USB stick. It's not very big, 1 GB, but I use it a lot to transfer data.

- Fenix E01. I think a flashlight is always useful. Currently nights are very short, but especially in the winter it is great to have a light source within reach.

- Bottle opener.

From a need it and not have it experience, I'd say my keychain pen and flashlight are about even. On a most used footing it's the flashlight.

I use one of those county comm cable key rings, and it holds a lot of handy stuff - a county comm split pea lighter, pico widgy pry bar, a Fenix AAA flashlight, and the most commonly used tool on there - a Wenger Swiss Clipper.

The swiss clipper has the best nail clippers I've ever seen on a pocket tool, and they get used constantly. Plus, I like how Wenger puts the tweezers and toothpick on the INSIDE of the scales, rather than the outside, so they are less likely to snag and pull out accidentally without you noticing.

I cant use a key chain if it has so much crap on it that it wont fit in my pocket. I have a minimal amount of keys and a swiss tech utili-key that I usually only use to adjust the idle speed on my motorcycle.

I carry various keychain items depending on where I'm going but the items that have been staples for years are the Vic Midnite MiniChamp, Leatherman Squirt P4 and a Photon or some variation of button cell light.
Other items include pill fobs with Advil and allergy tablets, a 16Gb micro USB key, various pens, Spyderco Ladybug (H1 or PE), Spyderco Grasshopper has been seeing use lately though (slightly bigger than the Ladybug and I prefer using it as my beater blade. Right now I EDC a G10 Caly3 for heavier chores.)

Here are some pics showing most of the stuff I alternate.
