Hey all,

I'm going to be puting in an order with usa knife maker and wanted to add some torx screws. Thing is I'm not sure why size I should get. What's the most common screw size (used on scales)?
I had typed in T6 in the search bar and got a few result back of: 2-56 flat head 1/4"

I have a few knives with stripped or worn screws on the scales so I want to just keep some extras around.
Thank you in advance for any input!

I think it largely depends on the knife, you might get more responses if you post what sort of knives you need screws for.

I can say that I recently needed some screws for a Spyderco PM2. They are 2-56. I found screws that took a T8 Torx. I got the .25 length which is longer than factory screws but that is what I wanted. I was fitting some aftermarket scales and clip and need a little more length. I used a Dremel and a file to bring them down to the right size.

The Spyderco and Benchmade screws I have seen are Torx, I would stick to that over flat head screws.

Thanks for chiming in zephy5! I think that's the size ill get. Seems to also be the most common on the sight as well. I have a couple of P2's so I can have spares for it as well.
