Dear forumites,
Firstly, pardon me for my ignorance. Can you folks tell me which is the most expensive production Spyderco blade (not prototype) ever to be traded or listed for sale in the worldwide market? What was the model name and its speciality? Does the numbered blade add value for trading as well? I am extremely curios. Much thanks for the info!

Sam - The first Jess Horn piece with the custom jigged bone handles and deppression instead of opening hole. MSRP was in excess of $400 when introduced.

Dear Sal,

Thanks a million for the info. Gazing at the crystal ball, will there a piece a jewel from your factory that will outprice Jess Horn's fine piece?

Sam

Sam - Not likely. It was not a successful design from the business point of view. It was too expensive to produce. Which actually makes it more valuable as a collector piece.

Sal,

I noticed some "after-market" spydies being traded or sold on the net. Does Spyderco endorse these items as a collector's piece? Are there any legal implications here? Hey! I just caught a glimpse of Bob Lum's titanium-handled tanto a few days ago. This must be one of your high-end folders. Just a matter of curiosity Sal, have you ever gotten any inquiries from Arab Sheikhs or Sultans from the third world to engage Spyderco on a specially made blade?
