Most often EDC?

We have done many threads asking “if you had only one…”. I am not going to ask that. I am asking “What if you had it to do all over again, what would your most often carried EDC be?” Yes, you can carry other knives for specific uses or because you like them, but what would you or do you come back to most often. Let’s try to limit our options somewhat by saying under $350.00, a folder and keep the blade length reasonable, say under 3 ½”. I know that many like blades that are larger, and if so that’s fine, but for me and some others, we run into legal issues carrying a 4” bladed knife in our pocket. I haven’t yet found something I am truly satisfied with; which is why I am asking. So what are your thoughts.

BM710HS. It might be a tad over your 3.5" limit, but there's always the BM705 if you need a smaller version.

At this point it would be the Spyderco Persian. In some ways the Persian, with its traditional lockback and smooth micarta scales, flies in the face of the current tactical trend. Nonetheless, I keep coming back to it. But, since I'm a relative newbie, that could change.

Either my Spyderco Micarta Calypso Jr. or my Benchmade yellow 556 Mini-Griptilian.

Both are perfect EDCs.

Allen.

I've come full circle back to a large Sebenza after a miriad number of more expensive customs.

I consistently come back to my LCC/DA (mine's converted for tip-down), but when I need something light I'll grab my Buck/Mayo. Although I must say I've been enjoying my new Leatherman Charge XTi with its pocket clip for the past week or so.

Medium Carson M#4 modified drop point S30V with rag micarta scales. It comes in a little over your price limit but its the knife that always seems to find itself in my pocket no matter how much sentimental value it holds to me. I use it hard but I don't abuse it.

I EDC an old style FRN Endura.I have a safe full of knives, some nicer, more expensive,larger,smaller,yada.yada,yada.If I needed to comply with a smaller blade to fit this criteria then it would be a Delica.Call me a worry wort or worse but I can't justify using/loosing/breaking a fine piece like a Sebbenza,Mayo, etc.I even would hate to loose my Endura. That's why I have several as baxck ups just in case.If I ever hit the lottery,my purchase would be a Calvary Sebenza and I'd carry that for special occasions like weddings,funerals,etc.tom. :)

My primary EDC knife for the past 12 years has been either a spyderco delica or endura. The preffered set up being one plain edge delica and one serrated delica. The carson mentioned abovehas always looked to me like perhaas the ideal EDC knife but its way out of my price range at the moment. Were I living in more rural areas I would probably want a stronger knife then the frn spydies but I always would carry two knives for edc.

Limited price or not my choice would be a small Sebenza. It's a knife that keeps finding its way back into my pocket no matter what else I try to substitute in its place. It's slim enough and small enough that I'm comfortable carrying it in any situation yet still big enough to do what I need it to do.

My Victorinox Settler. This is the perfect EDC for me. I have always come back to a 2 1/2"-2 3/4" bladed slip joint.

Paul

My fixed blade spear point from Graham Knives.Perfect in the pocket carry.Very strong.

I wouldn't change a thing; I'd still carry two Benchmades...My 805 and my 721s. Eventho' the 805 is a huge folder, the blade is still (just by a hair) under 4 inches.

Of the folders I have, I like the Crawford KFF the best. You can get a used one for under $350.
The DMKnives Instigator 2 is under $350, and is my favorite tough folder. It's the reason I haven't bought a Strider yet (though I get tempted!)

my most carried knife is my spec war emerson CQC8 w/a zero bevel grind blade, i carry it daily, as far as a shorter one i like my spyderco delica SE, and my wife really likes her new microtech mini SOCOM elite plain edge, they have a frame lock now (!) and are really a nice knife.

my #2 and 3 knives would be a crawford perfigo (4.5" blade) and a MT SOCOM elite (4" blade)

I would take the MOD 'Hornet'!! I love this knife - it feels like it was made for me :)
Second Choice would be my Spyderco Merlin!
