I have a very limited experience with modern knives compared to most of you, but here is one knife in particular I don't think I've seen discussed here. It's a great knife for the money and I'm a little surprised they aren't more popular.
1. Victorinox Nylon Solo.
This is a great knife. Runs under 10$, has the useful shape / grind of a SAK blade in a beefier version, lightweight, much grippier scales than the standard cellidor and one hell of a spring on that slipjoint. The handle is longer and thicker than a standard 1 layer SAK, you can really get a nice grip on it. The texturing on the Nylon handle works better than the smooth cellidor or bump Alox for pure grip application. The knife blade is thicker and nearly an inch longer than an average SAK blade. The backspring is one of the strongest I've used in a slipjoint, giving me as much confidence as some of my locking knives. This would be a great knife to give a kid, keep in the car or a BOB as a spare or just as your go to folder when out hiking.
Here's a photo to compare it's size with other SAKs.
What are some of the most overlooked knives in your opinion?
