Most Overlooked Knives

I have a very limited experience with modern knives compared to most of you, but here is one knife in particular I don't think I've seen discussed here. It's a great knife for the money and I'm a little surprised they aren't more popular.

1. Victorinox Nylon Solo.

This is a great knife. Runs under 10$, has the useful shape / grind of a SAK blade in a beefier version, lightweight, much grippier scales than the standard cellidor and one hell of a spring on that slipjoint. The handle is longer and thicker than a standard 1 layer SAK, you can really get a nice grip on it. The texturing on the Nylon handle works better than the smooth cellidor or bump Alox for pure grip application. The knife blade is thicker and nearly an inch longer than an average SAK blade. The backspring is one of the strongest I've used in a slipjoint, giving me as much confidence as some of my locking knives. This would be a great knife to give a kid, keep in the car or a BOB as a spare or just as your go to folder when out hiking.

Here's a photo to compare it's size with other SAKs.

What are some of the most overlooked knives in your opinion?

I agree I bought 2 and sold one, the thing is just a fantastic knife in S30V and Coccabolo(mine) and very solid and light and large and cuts Fantastic. But its just not one alot of people own or if they do they dont sound out much......guilty. I think another is the RAT3 it is a great knife to me and not alot of people talk about it, but then you can only talk so much about one knife.

Its been said a few times that the T2 is not getting as much attention as it dererves. Great size and geometry, S30V Ti & Cocobolo, made in the US, whats not to like?

Buck Mayo TNT 172.

Yeah, it gets attention, but it is, IMO, one of the best knives under 300 dollars. It should get as much mention as knives like the Para, 710, Leek, etc... it is one of the best EDC *production* folders short of CRK, WHK, and Strider.

That was what popped into my mind when i first read this. Along with the emerson HD series which i really dont hear enough about.:grumpy:

I never heard too much about this model until I saw it in a local shop and knew I had to have one.

Also from Lone Wolf ( but imported from Italy) , the Loveless Folder.

it seems that anything with the name kershaw seems to get ignored around here pretty regularly. later, ahgar

I see a lot of discussions about Storms, Vapors, Leeks, Mojo's etc. I think they're even pushing for a Kershaw forum ATM.

I see at least 2 or 3 kershaw threads every two days easily. Just this past weekend there a few threads asking what knife thye should get and some of the responses were the stormII

Vivi,
Maybe the Victorinox Nylon Solo is overlooked because it's not available. What's the part # and where can they be found? TIA

Personally, I overlook Lone Wolf knives, though I live less than 50 miles from the factory, because their designs assume everyone needs or wants to carry them in the right-hand pocket.

When one pays that much money, there should be a generous choice of carry styles offered.

Seems like Microtech gets overlooked lately.

I remember the ones I handled being pretty nice quality.

On the expensive side of knives(for most anyways), I think Kevin Wilkins knives are often overlooked. I also think Klotzli Knives don't see much attention, either.
