Hi,

I am about to purchase my second folder. I currently have the Benchmade Mini Griptilian, and now I am looking at the Spyderco Chaparral. Im leaning towards the Chaparral, but I am sure there are several more options,
in left handed or ambidextrous, that are classic gentleman folder style. But must keep it under $125.00.

Can I get some suggestions on other others I can look at also?

I definitely want it to be medium sized and somewhat dressy, classy looking, but definitely discreet looking.

I'm left-handed and I've been carrying a benchmade 707 for quite a while and before that I carried a 940, I like the axis lock a lot, very ambidextrous.

Yeah Id suggest the BM707 also, if you like lockbacks a Spyderco Native5 is right at 3 inches and it is a very good pocket knife.

I don't own a Chaparral, but it looks like a good southpaw knife choice. I find most the Spyderco back locks to be very left friendly to use and the clip options very accomodating. I would suggest you look at the Spyderco Caly 3 (ZDP-189, carbon fiber grips, wire clip). I know the full retail price is $50 higher but it can easily be had in you target price range with a little searching and it certainly meets your requirements and then some. The only knife that comes to mind that can compete with the Caly in that dressy/classy/discrete category and in that price limit would be some Mcusta models, but unfortunately they are not lefty friendly.

My current favourite is the A.G. Russell one hand folding knife in titanium and white bone. VG-10 blade. Very nice. Bone version $120
