Don't know the most popular but I like swaybacks in micarta.

Also, just out of curiosity, most popular among what age?

I think you should be a bit more specific.

Having been here quite a while... I've heard "It's as sharp as a Case knife!" too many times. I've never owned a Case knife... a few Boker Tree Brands and Bucks (USA), however, with the Stockman style as my longtime favorite slippie style.

You should pick yourself up a Case Stockman. I really like the medium with cv steel.

I've hunted deer a lot in Alabama around Monroeville, Camden, Montogmery, and butler. everyone i've seen skin a deer breaks out a slip joint or uses an old carbon steel fixed blade with wood handle and brass pins. The slip joints have been case and the fixed blades have been Chiago Cutlery. Hope that helps.

Don't know about Bama, but here, in Mississippi, it's a Case Trapper. They are sold at every hardware store. I live on the Alabama line and it seems similar there, at least in south alabama.

I lived in Birmingham for 12 years and always carried a folder, but rarely a slipjoint.

Now there's a question I never thought I'd see:p

I'm 49, and about 30 miles from the line on NW GA side. Since my early teens I have seen way more Case Trappers, and Mini Trappers(there medium trapper) than any other slipjoint. Bone with CV steel was the most seen, but there making less in CV the past several years, so i see alot of the yellow/CV trappers now.

Case CV Sodbusters would be second, and since they always have those in CV I still see alot.
The medium Case stockman would be a close third.

I just know about NE AL, and NW GA, but would think it would be about the same for most of the south.

It's probably a SAK. :D

We have our on knife company down here in Jacksonville, Alabama called Bear and Son (formerly Bear MGC) that makes a wide variety of slipjoints and multi-tools. Not sure how popular they are though. Seems like the most common folders I've seen in my few years down here have been multi-tools or one-handed folders. I haven't seen enough slipjoints to make any judgment but the most common has definitely been a Victorinox Classic on a keychain.

Another fun one is "Wide open as a Case knife in a barroom brawl."

I would say that the answer varies widely depending on the group you ask.

Just remember that the most popular (which I suppose means the most commonly sold) may not necessarily be a very nice knife (imagining the 2-3 dollar knives you see being sold on key chains in truck stops)
