Anybody know what the most popular traditional slipjoint model and make is in terms of sales volume? I may just buy one for the sake of just having the most popular around. I hear stuff like this or that trapper or stockman or peanut or sodbuster. Just wondering which is the most popular in your area, in terms of model and make. I think I hear Trappers are popular in Texas and Fl, and Stockman are most places.... Anybody know in your area? I would have to guess a CASE Medium Stockman in my area, but that is just a guess.

What brand, model and make and even steel is the most popular traditional slipjoint in your area?

I favor the medium stockman myself. I like having three blades and the sheepsfoot seems to get the most use (plus it is the easiest to sharpen IMO). Anyways, if the trapper is the best selling, the stockman can't be far behind.

I would guess the Vic classic is up there on the list, if not on the top. It's been around for a while, and they sell MILLIONS a year. Victorinox sells a lot of knives all over the world. There are a lot of Buck 301s out there, too. Lots of Case Peanuts and trappers. I don't think Case sells as many knives as Victorinox does, though. Does a SAK count as a "traditional slipjoint"?

I really couldn't tell ya the most favorite in our area...
As mentioned a Case Yellow trapper is probably one of the highest sellers for Case.

For all around use I've turned to 2 bladed jack knife like the 6292 or 62032.
Good size, I like the looks and I really don't have a need for three different blade choices. Plus a lot of them have halfstops :D....

Whatever you choose ya can't go wrong, because you will buy more..

It always was a Sheffield made, carbon steel, single blade Lambsfoot with black jigged man-made or wood scales. Farmers, country types, just about everyone who carried a knife had one. It was about the only knife you'd see on sale.

Nowadays I couldn't say, probably some cheap junk from Pakistan, that's if they carry a knife at all...most dont.

Only a few of us Die-hards left.

Case stockman or old timer stockman would be my guess. A Buck 110 would be up there.
