Yes...my Gold lapsed. I'll fix it soon...funds are tight. Anyway, this is the most recent vid detailing my picks for survival knives. All but one are Ka-Bar or Becker.

I especially enjoyed this one Tanner.

You might like the "Ron Hood Manrikigusari" vid. I've been getting goofier in the videos, but people are sending me messages saying they enjoy that they aren't dry vids, so I run with it. I get at least a few new subs a day.

Really liked this vid, had the flavor a lot of knife review videos lack.

I watched a lot of reviews before I started my channel. Most are two hands fondling a knife on a table, reading off the specs. Maybe a too-long segment batoning or something. I get bored with that, so I figure other people get bored as well. You wouldn't believe how many comments I got about my "beaver on meth" comment in the Bahco Laplander review. I didn't plan that, it just came out of my mouth. Same thing with the BK9 video. I didn't plan the dialog, and suddenly I'm freestyling about how 200 years ago, the tribe member with the biggest, best knife got his choice of mates, and if that held true today the BK9 would get me a small harem. I just open my mouth and stupid shit comes out.

Great vid, Tanner. I enjoy your reviewing style. You get out there and do stuff with your knives. That's always a good thing, since it keeps the review from getting boring.

I love this video. I was waiting for the bushman to fly off the spear rig and stick into the side of your house. That would have been classic!

Hey Tanner.....

Thank You...... I like your taste in knives a lot.....LOL...... Is not that MKI a tasty little critter......Tooj married a lot of designs into that one and I think he got the best of all of them......They issued that knife to every sailor during war two...... They did a lot of rope work.......They were still using Manilla (hemp) rope for just about everything so, the tasks were very similar to what we think of as "bushcraft" stuff...... A lot of splicing, etc.......... A lovely little blade with a lot of history.....I remember seeing drums of those in the late fifties in surplus stores for a buck or two......Never bought one.....Bought the Marine Combat instead........Shoulda bought the whole damn drum......

Thanks again......

Ethan

Nah, Wouldn't happen. It seats nice and tight on that spear shaft. Never say never!

Stay tuned next week when I go for a swim in a kiddie pool as proof of concept for how my survival pack is set up.
I figure I have three minutes to get the stuff out of the drybags, change, and get the Grabber blanket out and the Biolite stove going before I have to abort or risk hypothermia. Should be entertaining. Beckers will return soon to PM101...

Thank you. I need more Beckers to review, I just can't spend all my money on blades since its not just a knife channel. I still haven't decided on the next one. My trio fit all my needs. I always tell people...7,9,14....7,9,14!

Of course, Ill review (favorably) any Becker anyone wants to loan me and have it back in the mail in two days!

For whatever reason Youtube wasn't letting me post another comment, probably thought the link was spam or something. But here is the thread for that O-ring mod I mentioned in the video comments.

Found the thread on bladeforums. Got the sizes you need and pics. Looks really nice.

Excellent! Will give me a good reason to go back and review it on its own. Might do that tomorrow...

I've been thinking about a MK1 for a while going back and forth on it. Also looking at the ontario SP46. I'll probably get both along with a BK10 when that comes out.

Eh...Leave the Ontario alone and get another Becker. It's not that they are BAD, but Ka-Bar steel is just SO much better! I always tell noobs that have a little knife knowledge this...Remember back when Cold Steel didn't suck? (They are masters of 1055, but everything else....too much fail) The steel they used was called Carbon-V. It's pretty much the exact same thing as 1095cv that Ka-Bar uses now, and Ka-Bar has better heat treat. It can take punishment! I've seen quite a few Ontario bade fails over time on youtube.

Definitely get a Mark-I though. It's really nice if you add a firesteel holder like I did on mine. Gobspark Ranger is perfect for it.

I just ordered a BK16 instead along with a grass machete. There's a good chance I'll end up with a MK1 and a SP46 eventually. I'll defiantly grab me a BK10 when they come out.
