I just sold this ZT0300 that I tricked out. Did just better than breaking even.

Just sold this one the other day. I found it too difficult to open based on the positioning of the thumbstud.

This Double Cross just left for its new owner today.

Parted with a Schatt & Morgan 1196 recently. It just didn't get carried much, and I needed the cash for another purchase.

If no one knows what I'm talking about, here:

Just this past weekend I sold a BNIB Marble's Bison Silverwood Carver -- very attractive knife, but I knew I'd never use it and figured some Marble's collector out there would appreciate it more than I.

The best part of the story is that I met the buyer at a local Gun & Knife Show to do the deal. I then used the cash to pick up these two Muelas at the show:

So that's 1 out of, and 2 into, the collection... no wonder I have so many knives.

I've been thinking a lot about selling or trading my duplicates and did so recently with an extra Wilson Combat Eagle and lost about $10 worth of shipping fees but that's fine. It's the bottom one in the picture below. There are so many great knives that duplicates don't make sense to me any more.

What is this leaving of which you speak? I don't believe I am familiar with the term.

Bought a RJ Martin Wasabi, wasn't too impressed but I was able to sell it for a very nice profit.

Infatuation, Justification, Appropriation, Obsession, and Resale

Infatuation: You see it (internet, show, store, dealer, friends) and you want it. You may or may not have told your wife at this point.

Justification: You convince yourself why you deserve this knife. You may or may not have told your wife at this point.

Appropriation: This involves obtaining the funds to buy the knife. Could mean the resale of other knives. You may or may not have told your wife at this point.

Obsession: This is a 2 part gig. Waiting for the maker to complete your knife as well as deliver it. It is far easier if the knife has already been made or factory and only needs to be shipped. The second part is after it arrives. This includes fondling, stropping, oiling, modding, carrying/using, taking pictures, posting on forums with pictures, and finally the obligatory youtube video. Also may include buying a duplicate to put in the safe. You may or may not have told your wife at this point.

Resale: May lead to another knife starting this cycle over. You may or may not have told your wife at this point.

View attachment 418688Very last one to go in a recent selling spree was this microtech ultratech. As New in box with everything that came with it.
When I say as new it was only opened 6 times and then out for photos, let her go for $200.00 total because I only needed $190.00 for my dream knife which I got. ( it,s a Randall made 17).

Always liked the Blink, until I got a Twitch II and Twitch XL. No knives have departed my accumulation since last summer and I gifted a Twitch II to a young lady as a "college knife".

I traded a ZT 350 TS for a ZT 300 BW. I love the 300, but I wish I'd have kept the 350 too. Stupid regrets....

Oh, I know what you're talking about, and I never would have done it; of course, if I had first shot at that gorgeous cutlery, it would be in much better hands.;)

You know the old saying, you never know what you have until you don't have it any more.
