Most "Sand-Proof" production knife and easiest to clean while still heavy duty?

I have here a strider SNG and the pivot is a pain to take down, but I'm guessing it's that way to keep all the dirt out- even though it can still get in between the g10 and ti slabs. The benchmade 760 seems to fit that role but the lockup isn't benchmade's finest since the lock bar is not bent hard enough to the opposite slab

What is the easiest knife to clean (flow-through design?), easy to take down, and built tough?

Not sure if the zero tolerance ti knives are what I'm looking for since they're closed back and assisted opening- sand could really destroy that mechanism.

So far i'm thinking my esee izula is probably my best bet- as sandproof as a knife can get and still small enough to throw in your pocket and go

Yeah, no folder is going to be more sandproof than a fixed blade. I think you've answered your own question. ;)

It's been discontinued but if you look you can still find a ZT 0500 mudd.

as been dubbed the “Mud Knife” because it features Polyurethane® seals on the pivot and the Hawk-Lock that render it nearly impervious to sand, dirt, water, petroleum products, and—yes—mud.

Edit: They seem to be in the high $300's on ebay, but you can get a blem 0500 from kershawguy on the forums for $165.

What would be ideal for concealment in terms of fixed-blades? I was looking at that CRK Professional Soldier, seems like a no-nonsense knife.
I just don't know how strict my superiors in the army will be, so I'm trying to keep whatever knife it is subtle, thus the pocketable izula

ZT0550 should be reaching stores soon.

Don't know about basic, but I've talked to a couple of soldiers, and it seems to be whatever you want to carry; it's your sore feet, after all!

The Izzy still sounds like your best bet, for all the reasons that have been mentioned before.

I was really looking forward to that benchmade 275 and 375 but they were pushed back till next year at the end of the first month, pretty disappointed about that

Although it's discontinued, the ZT0500 MUDD knife featured a sealed pivot and lock mechaism. They still show up for sale from time to time, but they are getting fairly spendy to purchase now.

Another vote for the ZT0500. It has become my go to beach knife. It's definitely a pocket ripper though,

+1 on the Mudd knife, I've got one and it is awesome.

frankly, if you can swing it, go for the fixed blade. if not, the mudd will work better than any other folder I know of.
