Most underrated knives part 1: 5.11 Ten-Eight turned out to be a real work horse. 154CM steel, G10 handles and a quite solid liner-lock with zero blade play. I first thought that this knife would be a P.O.S knife but it´s a serious folder for hard use and the fit and finish is above average. Scary sharp and nice serrations. My only concern was the thin liner lock, but it passed my spine-wack-test with no problems. I think this is a great knife! Pieces made in USA but put together in Taiwan. Does anyone else got this knife?

I've been looking at the knife. For the price its a great knife. I haven't had the chance to hold one yet, but after hearing this i might just have to grab one. They also offer one in s30v if im not mistaken.

I like the style, and if it weren't for the serration I would have bought it.

I had a 5.11 but gave it to a co-worker..

I bought a smaller 5.11 before Christmas , green handle , black blade combo looked really cool , kinda Spyderco-ish.. it's the DRT model

Hated it. I dont mind Aus8 at all , but this knife's blade was so soft it was ridiculous. The whole thing felt flimsy and if I tightened the pivot to where it didnt feel that bad it was too tight to open realistically.
The linerlock was thin and poorly done , stuck out way too much IMO , I could just see it disengaging with ease.
In all it was a terrible buy and has soured me from their other offerings.

I'll stick with Kerhsaw and EKI :)

I had 5.11 with a tanto blade. Very thin liner, strange serration and the handle-shape failed somehow to impress me. Got rid of it - and it was not simple to find anybody interested... Good knives for collecting - may get quite rare any time soon... ;)

The steve tarani designed 5.11 knives were awesome, the new stuff..... not so much. The karambits they were turning out were amazing for awhile, and they had two diferent models. I have been meaning to pick up their newest karambit just to see how big the change was.
