OK fellows bring it up.I used mine when gathering chantarelle mushroom.I've heard of somebody using one as a "pooper scooper" and if I am correct a kothimoda was used to cut up wedding cake. What else can we bring up......

I've used my 12" sirupati to check the "doneness"of steaks on the grill. I'm sure this will pale in comparison to some:D

Oh, I used to use a chakma to open beer bottles in a pinch.

That's all I can think of for now---come on guys, I know there are MUCH stranger tales just waiting to be told out there!!

Mine might seem a bit tame compared to most others, but I used the spine of my 15 inch Ang Khola to split open some coconuts for my wife and my daughter. I figured that if I used a hammer, it would've cracked open the coconuts and split the shell into too many small pieces. Using the Ang Khola, I was able to split the coconuts in half evenly without any shell pieces coming out..

Wasn't someone going to say something with the word "bear" in it? :D

Sorry, couldn't resist. I can tell you what I'm GOING to do with mine. After Halloween, Jack's going to have an accident, probably a lobotomy. Won't make as much mess as a 12 gauge, but it should be much more therapeutic!!!

Well I don't know just how unsusal it is, But splitting a small 50 Lb. Oklahoma watermelon in two with one swift swing with a rather large long slender bladed khukuri while yelling, "YEEE HAWWWW will certainly get the grandkids
attention.:p  :D

The medium sized 80 pounders and the large 125-140 pounders (Southern Oklahoma and Texas) are just too much watermelon unless all the kids and grandkids are all here at the same time.;) :(

...Spatula for burgers on the grill {a 15" villager, of course!}, worked quite well actually

I used my 20 inch AK to cut my wedding cake! I had Uncle Bill post the pix a little while back. On time we were 4 wheeling and one of the trucks got bogged down so I wedged the blade of my 15 inch AK between the push bars and part of the frame and tied up the toe rope to it and another truck. It almost worked but the blade kept sliping when we would let any pressure off of it when we were almost out so we had to just use a cable winch. The blade did not have any damage done to it and I have no doubt it would have held the full weight of the truck if it worked. I saw an old Sears Crafsmen commercial that used one of their wrenches this same way to free a stuck vehicle and when I had the chance I had to try it...crazy? yes!!! I don't even think Cliff Stamp tried that one but it's one way to prove Khukuris are the strongest blades around!!!

He was thinking about using a truck to test the lateral strength of a khukuri but couln't figure out just exactly how to get the khukuri secure. He had a vice and bench but figured he'd just end up pulling the bench down the road and prove nothing except the truck could pull a bench down the road.

Wait a minute! I can't believe I left this one out! When I lived in Maui we used to get giant centipedes(7" long:eek:and venomous). I used a khuk to chop them in half on a number of occasions Of course it wasn't always the best tool for the job--I put a 4" cut in the carpet doing that:). I also used one to dispatch(behead) a large rat that I caught in our house.

Ok, I'm done for now:D

BTW, Yvsa I would love to see that on video! It should be attached to the FAQ along with Chris cutting his wedding cake:D :D

For awhile there I was going to sell one of my 30 inch Kumar Kobras to a young woman for belly dancing. I'll check, but she sent me a picture of what looked like a 25 inch Khukuri (couldn't tell what type) balanced by the edge on her head. Apparently here troop was very impressed by the effects--I, on the other hand, was impressed by the costume!!:D

A graphic example of "full body shiver"...Post the picture...please....please :D

Bro this may be a good time to let your wild imagination 'Bear' the load to protect your poor nekkid, shivering, Id from extreme visual overload.;) :p  :D

Had to get Swede's reference to a 'Bear' in there somewhere's.;)

Rob you could video the same thing for your kids, gives a man an excellent excuse to get a long, sensious, curvy khukuri too, and then you could show your grandkids the video while having the same khukuri and one of those small little things that pass for watermelons up north on hand to show them it could still be done. After all everything seems bigger to younger kids. ;)

Yvsa, who secretly would like to see if his poor nekkid, shivering Id, could Bear up to such extreme visual overload hisself.

HEE, I managed to get a couple of references, to 'Bears' in the post!!!! Oops, there was another one!!!!

Ouch! Yvsa, how can you bear it? :p

If I saw a woman barely (ok, so that doesn't count) balancing a khukuri, I don't know if I could bear the pressure...

A shivering id? Mine would have to much jiggle...:barf:

Yes, Walosi speaks for us all!!! Pictures!!!!

Just send me the belly dancer and forget about the khukuris. I aced my tests at the VA today and am feeling pretty frisky.

Congratulations! That's great news! How about a nice filet, single malt, and cigar first? Woo hoo!
