Okay, besides the large or small blade, which is the most frequently used implement on your SAK? I guess mine would have to be the awl on my Soldier, just so useful for many tasks.

So, what is yours?

I use the scissors on my Outrider alot, thats why I like the outrider, also have used the cork screw alot to open my wife's wine(She drinks alot but don't tell), flat head screw driver then the large blade.

I'd say the pen, followed by scissors, tweezers, then screwdriver. I wish more SAKs came with a pen.

Will probably get the Compact soon, though it annoys the hell out of me it has that stupid hook instead of something useful like another screwdriver or awl.

I carry a Vic Mechanic, the screwdrivers the most and pliers second. I use my yellowhandle Case CV's more for blades.

Not counting the main blade, these 3 are very close to most used; saw, bottle opener/screwdriver, can opener/small flat screwdriver. It is probably the saw but still very close.

Nail file & scissors for me! I always seem to get a busted nail or loose thread on my clothes. The blade is very good at cutting things that need cutting as well.

I definitely use the scissors the most. That thing is a life saver

It's hard to understand why the hook gets so little respect. As an all purpose tool, its uses are limited only by one's imagination. Besides the obvious, such as fishing things out of a commode, stirring fondue, poking people you don't want to touch with your hands, and as a last recourse when you are out of toilet paper, there is also the option to play Captain Hook when the urge cannot be ignored.

It's way past time to take another look at the hook. Perhaps it will be become the most used tool for others like it is for me. :)

RickJ,

same here ;), for me started only recently though .. Anyone knows if the Vic Wine Opener (the one only meant sor that, not a SAK) works better than the one in SAK's? In term of leverage in pulling out the cork?

After the main blade-the wood saw and the reamer.I love the blade and saw of my OHT,but the reamer of the Soldier is way better than the 91 and 111 mm awls.

I have a Farmer and I use the awl a lot to scrape the dirt from the cracks in my knives or whatever else is hard to reach.

Blade, then scissors, then screwdrivers.

Honorable mention: magnifying glass, parcel hook

...oh, and the toothpick.

Phillips followed by scissors on my Yeoman. Alsthough I have some modified SAKs awaiting me at the P.O. that may change that.
