Most Used vs Favourite

I don’t think there is a single person here that does not know what my favourite Busse blade is (model because I have more than one of that model) but for many of us I am guessing there is often a difference between “favourite” as in like everything about it and would not ever want to be without one (at least :D ) and the Busse that, because of circumstances, activity, convenience etc is the one that actually gets the “most use”.

Certainly for me this is the case. Not because MY FAVOURITE is not the best’est knife ever :D :D (any heathen that disagrees with me will be cursed by an old witch that lives in a gully near here and for a six pack of cheep beer and a splash of whisky she will cast a curse on any given Friday night)….but because another is perhaps more practical for everyday life.

For me that one that probably cuts something here almost every single day is the old Skeleton Key I rescued from an abusive home (I await the post from the former owner with baited breath now) and which has now travelled the world with me. I was sorting out some pics and realised that little blade had a bunch of frequent flyer points up. From memory….all but one state of Australia, New Zealand (twice) South Africa, the US, UK, Mozambique and probably somewhere I have forgotten. A coupe of months ago I had “misplaced it (as I was moving home temporarily) and that was the worst two days of my life :D :D When I rescued it it came with a kydex sheath that I actually wore out (more on this when the former own reads this) and now it resides in a new one !!

In the UK….

Last year after a touch up…..

I've waxed lyrical about the Skelly for years in the hope that Jerry might do another run. Unfortunately I lost my favourite one some years ago and I only have one left for the collection so I no longer carry one.
As I have said many times in the past the Skelly is the most practical edc Busse ever made.

Who would abuse such a wonderful blade.............some monster I am sure.

This pic has to be at least 20 years old
back when this was a big collection

Here is a pic where you can see the SK after it was abused
It was a EDC for quite a few years

I think my most used ened up b11 and SoB. But, honestly because I haven't gotten out much I haven't had a chance to use some if the things I plan on replacing as my go to camp blades.

Infi cyclone is now my go to chopper, and tg nano is all around blade. I did carry nano in my last camping trip. But, it mainly did light mess duty. And splitting axe did most of fire wood stuff.

As for my all around light knife, it's park ranger strapped to the battle belt. Although SoB and UG are prime contenders for that role too. Still need to reach out to David about the sheaths once if figure out which I'm actual going to have on the belt other than park ranger.

W/Out a doubt, The Warden Trustee
She was with me every step or slosh of the way thru Hurricane Helene
Oh I should mention my favorite- The Fusion Battle Mistress LE 1of 300 w/TigerHide Scales - thats one wicked blade

I would love to see the assault shaker/pepper shaker make a return. Probably the biggest regret I have in selling a Busse.

Ya know the old Swamp Shack had a photo of the M7 proto... there's still hope 😉

I hope SR101 will one day be resurrected

🤘🍺🤘

Hell to the YES! That series is extremely deserving of a revisit, and additional sizes.

I never had a HRLM so I don’t know how good they are, but I absolutely LOVE the M6 and M9. Imagine adding an M4 and M7 (Ratmandu counts as the M5 basically). Hell, I’d be down for an M11 too!
