Not your favourite EDC etc but what is the most useful knife you own? Whether it be at work, at home, in the kitchen whatever?

For me it is a 4" F-Dick "Poultry" Knife which is about the first I reach for in the kitchen or when I need a knife for rough work. I have "skun" a 'roo with it.

My EDC is a Spydie Military combo edge, but for cutting a pile of cardboard
I will grab an Opinel or Mora knife from Frosts of Sweden. But my top favorite for such a job :Spyderco Moran drop point, very hard to beat.

Opinel OP-8
The Opinel is an outstanding cutting tool, that is better for just about everything I typically cut than most of my other knives, however boring its appearance, and inconvenient its operation.
What could be more useful than a superb cutting machine, whose price, and availability allow you to use it without regard for wear or damage, as it's practically disposable?
It will never be one of my favorite knives, but I'll always have one around.

Yes, despite the presence of more expensive knives, since I left my mother an Opinel #12 for cooking I just cannot get it back !

Any thin and sharp knife for EDC is the most useful one; presently M.C.Cognet Tiki.

My Mnandi with African Blackwood inlay. Elegant, sharp, ergonomically superior and built like a tank to boot. Another trait that I really appreciate is how the position and design of the clip allows for very discreet carry.

A little Folder without a Lock that was a present from a german company called HILTI, the blade is from Solingen, incredible sharp and features a bottle opener. My desk is his home and i use it like once per hour :)

Definitely my Spyderco Military. It's my overall workhorse for all outdoor tasks. Preparing food, whittling ,and so on. But it is so ugly that it will never be my EDC.

My V-nox Settler. Between the large and small blades, all my EDC cutting is covered.

Since I do most of the cooking at home, it's my Furi 8 inch chef's knife. It's so useful it rarely gets put back on the magnetic rack but sits on the kitchen counter.

have to say my edc a buck nxt, use it ofr cutting food when out, cutting straws for my kids as a letter opener, an exacto knife, to skin deer etc. and it cleans upgood in the dish washer.

Spyderco Military and Spyderco Calypso Jr. both in plain edge. Both are great slicers, lightweight, great steel, great ergos, and dependable.

The one that I use the most here at home is my Agrip-wrapped REKAT Hobbit Fang.

For me it's the Spyderco Calypso Jnr.
It's small enough not to worry most people, but it's geometry means that it cuts better than a more traditional blade of the same legnth.

Sure there are other knives I have that are better at specific tasks, but the Calypso Jnr is a good alrounder and sees more carry time than any of the others.

I have just started using my Spyderco Moran with upswept point - the way its going at the moment it may become my most useful knife - then again I also just started using my Krein Tk1 and it might give my others a run for their money.

I'd have to agree. I have a number of other, more expensive knives, but the Calypso always wants to find some time in my pocket.

The blade shape/grind are perfect for EDC tasks.
The lock is effective, without any play.
The ergonomics are spectacular.
It is thin, and light, with a great clip.
You never have to worry about the keys scratching up the handle.
It only costs $40!

My mst used knife is a Victorinox "Huntsman". The Huntsman has alot of usefull tools like a screwdriver, Bottle opener, Scissors, Wood saw, Corkscrew, Toothpick, Tweezers, and even a couple of blades. I have come become quite the hero with this might knife. :D
