I'm not sure if it's because many schools are out for the summer, but I have noticed that the most user ever on line here on Bladeforums has gone through the roof today. At one point there were 1500 guests visiting our wonderful forum.

I think it could be how the internet program people use, keep them signed on forums so often. Firefox does it for me, never sign in or out always on.

TWO THOUSAND people thats pretty friggin cool even by the Internet's standards.

Any browser that can accept cookies can keep you logged in. That has nothing to do with the users online count -- that's how many users have loaded a page in the last 15 minutes.

There has been a lot of guests back in the shop talk area laltely?

I also was wondering?

Knife maker wanta beez? that's good though? right?

Drives the market, can NEVER have too many knives.

300 hundred million people USA alone?
Close to 6 billion on earth? wow!

They should make it a law, EVERY GUY MUST CARRY A KNIFE, AT ALL TIMES.

Then that way you know? your sit'n around some were, wait'n on the
old lady shop'n. You could turn to the guy next to you and say
" what ya carring today man?" and you know he would have something
to show. It would be the law.

Fat chance that happen'n though, with the chick'n $hitts run'n this country.

We can only try.

The Guests stat is a bit misleading:

Websites like Google, MSN, Yahoo, Altavista have automated bots / spiders that search every forum to index. If each of them searches 30 forums within 30 minutes, then you have 120 "active" guests or 240 guests per hour.

I was watching to see how high the number would go and it went from just over 1700 to 2002 in under 1/2 an hour. The number had stayed at just under 1600 for over a year, so something happened to make it climb like that, and I don't think search engines had much, if anything to do with it.

I'm with Keith, something happened, I don't know what? but something did?

Like I said before, shop talk area numbers are way up?

I don't know

Seems to me we usually have about equal numbers of registered users and guests online, don't we? I don't look at it very often, but I seem to remember seeing numbers like 500 users and 500 guests. Is that what other people remember?

Right now I see "Currently Active Users: 1847 (488 members and 1359 guests)"

I don't recall seeing a big disparity like that in the past....

I'm not surprised, it's a wonderful place to be:thumbup:

Spare a thought for those who have yet to sample our delights....(intelligence,vitriol,encouragement,contempt:D etc)

Man that's a beautiful and brilliant idea I'd vote for you for president. :D

Perhaps the bugs and mosquitos are as bad as they are around here, and with the warm humid weather people are inside using the computer with the airconditioners on. I recall that it was about a year ago when the last time there was a peak in users.

I remember back when we finally hit 2000 MEMBERS! That was cause for celebration. I came in somewhere around 900-1000 members total. Lots of memories...
