In some other threads I had mentioned that I had some pics of the largest Helle's Belle Bill has ever done some have asked to see the pics

The knife was ordered by one of Bill's friends and clients a collector from California. He has given his permission to show these and I hope if he gets the chance and see's this he adds some comments.

The Blade is Bill's Satan's lace and is 14 1/2 inches long the handle material is of course stag and the fittings are of Brass as the customer requested.

I find it amazeing that for the greater part of Bill's life he has made his liveing from pounding steel into wicked knives and shooting a rifle. I wish I could say the same I think it is very cool.

Custom knives are not just about the knives. It is about the people that make them and the people that buy them and I would like to see more info on these threads about both.

Here are some pics for those of you that are interested of Bagwell in Africa in 08. I have seen the video of these hunts so the distances that are discussed are not BS and the shooting was done with iron sights and a Sharps in 45/110

This Sprinbok was shot at an amazeing 526 yds .. Thats a hell of a poke with iron sights in my book.

Here is a lovely Blesbok that was shot at 108 yds. I would have loved to have gotten a hold of the knife in the pic but I believe the same collector that owns the big HB above also has this knife
BagwellAfrica044.jpg

This is a Steinbok and believe it or not this is Bill's best scoreing animal from this trip as Steinboks go this is a giant and easily make the book. Shot was 49 yds freehand

Here is the Grey Ghost of Africa a very nice Kudu shot at 302

I have more animal pics of this trip but will save them for another time.

JParanee thanks for sharing those shots. That would just about be livin in heaven to spend one's life pounding steel and shootin and hunting. Bill deserves it.

Hey Joe,
You bring a great deal to our little community, this thread is a good example.
Some great shots here and I don't mean Bill's, what awesome images.
His shooting sounds like it almost equals the might of his legendary blades.
Thanks for this, Joe! :)

a few years back Bill came up here to Montana for a Buffalo hunt. I personally witnessed him take the top of the heart out of a 3 year old bull at 186 yards off hand with a sharps rifle with barrel mount sights. It was also the first time i used a damascus hunting knife to skin an animal................WOW.

Joe, thanks for posting these pics and providing a little background. I always enjoy it when I see someone truly living life rather than simply getting by and letting life pass them up. To be honest, it seems like a rare thing these days. I'm glad to see that BB is an exception to the rule.

Great photos Joe. I can see your perspective on Bill's having quite a good lifestyle. Making knives, shooting guns, and hunting sound pretty good to me too.

Seems like you don't do so bad either:D

Thanks for posting the pictures and sharing some of Bill's adventures.

wow! what a knife. i wish we had a pic of it next to a standard HB to really see the size of it.

thanks for sharing Joe

Thanks everyone for the kind comments I know Bill would apreciate them and I certainly do.

When I first started talking to Bll it was about knives but both of our love for the outdoors and hunting have led to the friendship that we have now.

Bill wants to go back to Africa and shoot a Cape Buffalo with his Sharps . Buffalo hunting is my thing and to date I have shot 5. I am working on a possible trip back to Zimbabwe to the Omay region for Bill and myself. Hopefully this will happen sooner than later.

My dear friend Paul Long is working on a special project for me right now that uses some of my skin from my last Buff that I am very excited about it.

Again thanks everyone for the kind words

Here are some more shots of Bill's last trip

A very pretty Zebra that shows almost no shadow . Mare's almost always have the best skins. Stallions fight alot and scar themselves up

Another fine Kudu

A Black Wilderbeast
BagwellAfrica050.jpg

Another Springbok that Bill shot quartering away. No need to worry about penetration He is getting excellent results with his loads and bullet combos
BagwellAfrica051.jpg

A very old Blue Wilderbeast that was running alone . An excellent very mature trophy
BagwellAfrica052.jpg

A very nice Gemsbock
BagwellAfrica053.jpg

A nice Impala and they eat very well
BagwellAfrica058.jpg

Parting shot . Shooting off the sticks an old buffalo hunters trick. If ya notice Bill likes to shot high shoulder this is my favorite shot for breaking um down quick and clean.
