With Mother's day arriving, I want to give honor to our Mother's. Thus, I started preparing yesterday, by thawing the brisket and getting some spices on it. This morning I got the charcoal going and got it on the grill. I let mine cook until dark and then slice and cool for the
frig.. (we may have some tasting bites) Ha--- cook's pay.
I'll use the Empress Trio 6" for slicing & trimming. This model is a great style trimming and
boning blade. With 440C blade and micarta handle, it will make you look like a knowledgeable chef.
This one has the rare black micarta handle.
Hope some of you gents do something special for your Mother. DM

Looks good David.
I still remember your pics from last year.
I plan to smoke a turkey. Already got it in the brine.

Went to a few cemeteries this afternoon (it's supposed to rain tomorrow) with flowers. :)
Had to use the 104 to clean some weeds around headstones. Can't leave with things looking like they did.
I gotta get back there more often.:(

Very nice David. We just returned home, drove inland to my parents home and took a nice dinner for us to eat together. Had a nice visit after lunch and then drove back home. A Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers and to all of our children’s Mothers! OH

Today is kind of a melancholy day for me. My mom passed in October of 1981 of breast cancer and I still miss her.

My kids mom, my ex wife is not doing well. She has pancreatic cancer and is very sick. All four kids and grandkids are there with her today and spending as much time with her while they can. Even though we aren’t together I still feel saddened and a mix of feelings and I know the kids are going though a tough time. I hope she can pull through but the prognosis is very grim.
My son cooked a brisket for their dinner and I know they will enjoy that. It’s good to know we raised our kids to be respectful and to have compassion and I’m thankful for that.
I hope all is going well for everyone here on the forum and I’m thankful for all the moms out there. Make the day special for them all!

Les,thanks for this post. My Mom passed from the same illness in 2009. But she's in no pain now and we'll set her a plate. Hope you get to go enjoy some brisket with your son and find that cloud with the silver lining. Best wishes, DM

That's a nice knife to use for that brisket David,Mother's Day is sad for me too, looking at a living breathing person with Alzheimer's and no idea why I'm there to see her ,it's hard to take.

My wife mad a delicious venison stew complete with dumplings and homemade rolls,it was delicious.I did all the dishes And then gave her a footrub ,hey I need to get in her good graces ,I made some Buck purchases she is about to discover lol.

Razor, you did good for her. I lost my Great Grandmother & Grandmother to that ailment. I don't wish it for anyone. You'll post some pictures of your new knives.? Thanks. DM
