MotoGP riders tackle US challenge

Motorcycle road racing is absolutely scary to me. They didn't use to call these guys "knee-holers" for nothing! Ever see sidecar road-racing? Still popular in Europe, the "monkey" (the guy on the sidecar) has to be absolutely fearless and as flexible as a gymnast.

For good road-racing action, it's hard to beat the Speed-channel-sponsored GT and Touring Car race series. Featuring tough, competitive sports-car racing on the very best road circuits here in the states, each race tends to be tough and gritty, with plenty of contact and off-road excursions.
The organizers have been very successful at keeping the field comptetive with a system of "rewards weight" added to the winning cars.

I'm so happy to see MotoGP running at Laguna. If Biaggi dumps his bike in the corkscrew, my weekend will be complete.

As for scary racing, the Isle of Man TT takes the cake for bikes in my opinion. Nothing like racing past a lamp post or a fire hydrant at 150mph instead of a tire wall and gravel trap.

Many years ago, when I was into motorcycling, I remember an Isle of Man event where something like 8 riders died over the course of the event.

I can’t wait to see how the ex Superbike guys go, and how the first timers go with the Cork Screw.

Ugh, I haven't even been keeping up this season. I'm still watching 04's... :(

I have some links for some 05 and the 04 season; post up if you want em.
