Not sure if this is a stupid question, couldn't find anything searching....

Has anyone ever used Motor oil as a pivot lubricant?? I would think that it would work well.

Might take my sebenza apart again a throw some Mobil 1 5w-30 on?

Or is this a stupid idea? :foot:

I've been using 5/10W-30 for several years. Nothing much to report, it seems to work just fine.

Motor oil will work. You can use all kinds of lubricants though. I prefer food grade mineral oil. Most things like motor oil are toxic and I don't like to chance it.

Okay, thanks for the input, but I changed my mind...went through our gun cabinet and found some gun grease....Gunslick Anhydrous Graphitic...smoother than butter now.

Absolutely fantastic results with Militec-1 on my spydies! Don't know what I'll ever do if supply ever dries up...
