I have forged a knife out of tranny shaft. I know chains And Bruce E. kickstand knife, but has anyone made anything out of handle bars and front end tubes? I have a few old ones hang'g around and was gone to give the tubes a shoot.

Indian George, You crack me up! Try filling the handle bars with 52100 round stock and forge weld it. Wouldnt you get San Mai? Hey thats not a bad idea. Bruce B
 
I'd be willing to bet that fork tubes and handlebars are made of 1018 DOM tubing.
 
I have wondering the same things myself.I have figured that most of it will have to go into a damascus mix..
We are going to have to be careful or our buddies are going to start hiding there bikes so we can't find them as they will be afraid that we will make knives out of them.
I was told that crank shafts and pushrods make excelent knives
