I was wondering how many BladeForums people own a motorcycle...or want to get one? :)

I have a Kawasaki ZX-12R.

'85 Yamaha Fj1100. I've had it since it was new. It has about 35,000 miles on it now, and still runs strong.

This spring I'll be buying a '69 Rickman Triumph from an old friend. Beautiful bike, and makes all the right noises.

The Rickman will be bike #10 since 1970.

Man, I'm dying to get another bike.
You guys are killin' me.
It's been about 15 years since I've owned one.
I'll probably buy a 600 Crotch Rocket within a year.
Which one is the king of the hill now.
After that, I wanna tour.
Can anyone say "Gold Wing"?

I was thinking about posting this question here but wasn't sure how appropriate it was.

My wife used to ride a dirt bike once in a while. I've never ridden. She now wants to get a dirt bike and do some riding. I would like to join her. We both want to learn how to ride safely and when I call the local dealers, they refer me to the CHP (I'm in CA) for training, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to find any training. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting some good quality training for riding and getting a motorcycle license in CA? The only class I've found is from the local community college but it doesn't start until March :(

Thanks!

Try the Motorcycle Safety Foundation for the best instruction. I currently ride a BMW R100RT, sold my '93 Softtail HOG after riding through a swarm of bees in Iowa...

Honda ST1100A

Have ridden it from South FL north as far as Maryland, west to Utah. No better way to see the USA.

BTW, that Rickman could be a thing of beauty...is it just a Ricky frame or...?

I would have to say that the Hayabusa (sp?) is the definite

KING OF THE CROTCH-ROCKETS

and the new V-Rod looks pretty cool too

I have been running a 1992 BMW K-75 for the last few years. Planning on finding a 1998 K 1200 RS next year if I can.

The 'Busa(Suzuki GSXR 1300) is king of top speeds. My bike(ZX-12R) is only a few mph slower...but who will be doing 180+ in the real world? The smaller sportbikes(600cc to 1000cc) handle much better than the 'Busa or the ZX-12R.

I have 3 bikes, all Honda, all DP/Offroads.
87' XL 350, 87' XL 600 and 86'XR 600. No plans to buy new IRON though, BIKES and CARS are REAL expensive over here, every ten years you have to buy a "certificate of entitlement" to keep the clunker on the road for another ten(prevailing 3-month bid average), same goes for New bikes too. Have ridden all types of bikes from scoots to full fairings to Gold Wings (used to work for a bike shop), still prefer DP bikes though.
Hayabusa is a bullet on wheels, careful you don't rocket into hard objects.

Regards Bernard ;)

true. I doubt I'd go more than 130 mph on a bike. I'd be too frightened. At that speed you don't really have time to react if anything goes wrong.

But still, the busa looks frickin sweet and I think it'd be cool to have one.

My baby - Buell 2000 X1

Properly modified - 108 rw horses - same amount of tourque

Had crotch rockets before (CBR 900RR and a GSXR 1100) But this is way more fun!!! A true wheelie monster that tears up corners :D
