A few weeks ago I picked up a new StarTac, but my mind kept wandering back to the tiny V8160 dual-mode phone that I had seen at the dealer. After a few days I took the StarTac back and picked up the Vulcan. It's about the size of a standard Motorola pager. Here's a pic alongside my medium Carson Model 4.
The body measures 3 1/4" tall x 1 5/8" wide x 1 1/8" thick with the standard battery. It weighs 3 ounces. The standard lithium-ion battery is good for 150 minutes of talk time, or 125 hours of standby time in digital mode. It has a neat vibrating ring option to silently alert you to incoming calls. For those who want it (I could care less), it has a built-in mini-browser for picking up e-mail or other net features. It was very pricy, but I spend so much money on knives that I figured I could spend a bit on other types of gadgets too. So far it's given me excellent service - at least equal to my last phone which I was also happy with. For more info, go to the Motorola V8160 page.
