Mountain Khakis

i have a pair. they are ok. i don't really see why they are tougher than some other pants, but they sure are more expensive. the material is thicker and it's double sewn at the bottom cuffs, but that's really the only difference i see.

i wish mine had cargo pockets. and maybe a more "relaxed" fit.

I have a few pairs. I found them over a year ago on 'bay.

Rugged - stiff when new, still relatively stiff. Two pair still going strong after over 150 wash/dry cycles.

Mine are the one with the "cell phone" pant pocket. The double right-hand front pocket is sorta niffty - keep change separated, etc.

--Alpine model, I guess--

Probably due to the construction. From the Mountain Khaki website:

"MK Quality
Mountain Khakis are crafted with attention to every detail, and we pride ourselves on producing one of the highest quality products in the outdoor apparel industry. Our obsession with quality is found in the contruction of our pants (bar tacked reinforced stress areas and triple-stiched seams), as well as our careful choice of premium materials (abrasion-resistant fabric, high-grade threads, unbreakable buttons, and solid brass YKK zippers)."

I have the a pair of the Alpine Utility Pants I received as a gift.

In short, they are an excellent item. Comfortable all day long, lots of pockets and one of the most important things, a well-designed gusset.

I find them better than the base Duluth Trading Firehose pants, but they are more expensive.
