Fun to make and going to a show with me this week-end. Forged from 1095 with hammer marks along the spine. The figured red oak handle is stabilized but with a treatment of stain made from iron and vinegar it looks natural. One of the photos shows the patina I forced on the brass because after the photos were taken it looked too, well, brassy.

Wow! Simply awesome looking - love the kind of rugged/rustic look it has - very fitting for a "mountain man" knife!
I'd sure be proud to own that one!

Thanks for the feedback, folks. This is something new for me it and sold very quickly. I have a stag handle Mountain Man Knife on the work bench right now and will post that one too just for the ego boost.
