Been in BridgePort, CA for MWTC for the whole month of May basically. Humped around a lot of weight up a lot of hills. Got a few rough survival classes which I knew most of it from just general internet reading and real life practice. It was nice to practice some things like snow caves and coffins, procuring water new ways that I've never had a chance to and land navigating in a new terrain. I'm REALLY wanting to go back up there as a civilian when I get out and get to enjoy it next time.

Anyway here's a few random pics

Great photos. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, that last shelter looks like crap. Must be the guy's first time outdoors.

Looks like some great country to practice some survival skills. Thanks for sharing!!

Great photos. Appreciate you posting them here!

Great pics and thanks for the carbine pron. :D

Doc is the only guy that could look like a badass wearing a fanny pack!

Good post!

I hope someone helped out that guy with the deflated looking shelter.

You got some great pics of Bridgeport! That's always good place to go through, I went through there about 10 years ago and had a lot of fun, while learning some really good things. Semper Fi brother!!!

I wonder, can you go the the Marines and ask to take the course without being a Marine?

Nope. Besides that wasnt even the Mountain Survival Course they offer. I'd love to go to that one. That was just day to day living to stay warm.

+1 It looked like an awesome time to me. I'm envious. Great pics, beautiful terrain.

Why FML? I'd stab myself in the eye to get to do all that crap! :D

Alright. This has been an on running joke for some time with military guys. It was a "good time" and I did alot of cool stuff in cool places. HOWEVER, I did hump around 100lbs of gear over mountains like 8 to 12 hours a day, then have to build a shelter only to pass out for the night, get woke up to stand fire watch at random hours, get up a 0600 to do it all over again for weeks at a time. Not to mention we all came from SEA LEVEL and went up to 7600ish feet our first day, and climbed in the 8900ft area. Talk about sucking wind

Dont think i didnt have fun..I did. But i would have more fun going there with some friends and no military planning process
