How many of you keep the factory edge on the knife until it dulls? I can't tell if it's a good one or not. It cuts paper and plastic well, but I tried whittling and it didn't do as hot. Plus, the wood actually scratched the gun kotea. I heard this stuff withstands scratching from piercing cans, but not wood?

I bet these are just wood maks on the coating and not scratches. The fresher and sfter wood the worse marks on the blade. But it's just wood on the porous surface of the coating. Use a soft brush, soap and water to remove it.

And yes, I used to open cans with my MK.VI... only some marks on the coating, kind of "dulling" of the coating or something... but the knife was not scratched to the bare steel, not at all.

Well now scratches are the least of my worries. Some A$$HOLE broke the tip on it after telling me it wasn't legal for me to have it, then called it a "piece of shit knife". I hate ignorant people. :thumbdn:

Oh My.... I'm sorry to hear of your woes. I applaud your self-control. If I was you, I'd present the other party with a bill requesting enough $$$ to replace your knife with a new one.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm sure CRK could put a new tip on no problem, it was dropped on a glass table, so not terrible damage. But regardless I want the $205 for a new one anyway.
