Mountaineer II

I just received a like new in box Mountaineer II which I purchased from another forum member. It came in mint condition but the end cap was the hexagon type. Anyone know when they changed to the round type. I am trying to date this knife as it did not come with a born on date.

I could be wrong (and probably am..) but I believe the hex cap never came as a standard and was always sold separate from the knife.

I remember not too long ago CRK was selling them at their web page and saying it was the last of them.

I found the original born date paperwork for this knife and it did come from CRK with the hexagon alluminun cap and a serial number on the blade and the paperwork. Born on Sept 19th 1991. I'm real happy with this find!
