Why is the "angle" of the false edge different on the Mountaineer I & II? Any reason?

The longer swedge is on the longer-bladed knife, while the shorter swedge goes on the shorter-bladed knife. I think it's about the swedge being proportional to blade length.
Shorter blade= shorter swedge= steeper angle. I think.

I think the Mtnr 2 probably has a shorter swedge to make the point a bit tougher.
The wider blade looks better with the shorter swedge as well IMO so maybe styling is a part of it also.

Makes sense. Both are good looking knives, but personally, I like the looks of the MI blade better. Little bit more sleek. Different strokes, I guess.

I prefer the M1 blade also.

Its a great knife and is actually one of the fixed blades I use the most out of the ones I have.
