Been wanting a truck/car knife for a while and been thinking about a 711 or a 911 to throw out there, big, heavy, and decently inexpensive.
When the wall pics for KC were posted, I, like maky people were intrigued about the "bushcraft choppers/machete looking things".
The MountainmanDus themselves are pretty sweet, very blade heavy and I love the plunge line.
But, there was something about the protos I liked. They reminded me of corn knives, they are very lightweight and slim. The protos were all a tad different, but the one I grabbed, I liked the blade shape more.
So, I figured that's what I'd keep for the moment as a truck knife, and I was curious how it would do. Plus with the interest and questions people have on them I thought I'd do this brief pic thread.
The one I grabbed has a 10" long blade, and is .189" thick.

Love the way they did the scales

With everything still being in the "wintery-death looking" mode I didn't chop much with it. And when you handle the protos, you know it's not meant to be a heavy duty chopper, it's meant for more like brush and greenery.
But, I still gave a handging vine some chops, it was rougly 1.5" thick, took 4 swings to get through it

I did try some larger stuff, and some logs that were seasoned and harder. It did bite, but since the protos aren't as heavy as the regulars, it didn't bite deep. That being said, it's been a long time since I actually chopped with anything.
But as a small machete on greenery, shrubs, saplings, and limbs it should be pretty handy
