Mounting Stones to EdgePro Blanks

Just received a couple stacks of congress moldmasters and a pile of EP blanks. I read that Ben Dale uses 3M 77 to adhere the stones to the blanks. Should I stick with this? Does anyone have another recommendation? Is there any particular prep work that I should do prior to mounting the stones other than making sure the stones are flat? Thanks.

I did a bunch of those stones a few years back (here's some)...

The 3M77 worked like a charm and was easy. Spray all the alum. blanks, spray the back of the stones, let 'em sit for a minute or two and stick them together. (Just make sure you have them lined up properly before sticking them together... once they contact there's no adjusting.) No need to flatten anything, I never did, unless maybe something is really off. I lined them all up and did them all at once. The ones that are left are still stuck. :)

I've done several dozen with 3M Suoer 77. It's perfect.

And when you wear out the stone, boil it in water for minute and (using gloves) the old stone slides off, the adhesive is fairly easily remover with paint thinner alcohol, and you're ready to mount a new Stone.

BTW, I flatten my stones every time I use them.

I went with a type a different type of glue. The only reason why was because I like to use oil on my SiC stones and the mineral oil released the glue on the stone as shipped by Dale. The glue I used is a bit thicker than spray so I used a thin layer and clamped it all together to dry. I couldn't be happier with the results and can use whatever to lubricate/float swarf on the stone.
