For the past couple of days I have been having a problem where my PC mouse cursor has been having the tendency of starting to move by itself to the bottom of my screen and it seems to go away for a little bit after letting the PC power down for the night but it seems that not 10 minutes into getting into the desktop the mouse just starts acting up like that. The unit is a Logitech Cordless Wave Pro and it has been fine since March when I got it as a present for my birthday. So anyone have any idea what could be wrong with the darn thing?

Check the optics first of all. Might be some dust or something on the lens on the bottom of the mouse. After that, try reinstalling drivers if it doesn't fix itself.

Does your mouse use standard batteries or is it rechargeable. If it uses normal batteries, try replacing them.

Check for dirt and dust, check for batteries. Try another mouse if possible. Also clean your mouse pad or desk, believe it or not small objects can really mess with the optics.

I have cats and one of them sheds like a fiend...when my mouse starts acting up it is because a cat hair hs gotton on the lens or just wedged in that little space. Blow it clear and the mouse it good to go. Of course a mouse can just wear out occasionally and need replacing as well.

Better try another mouse, double check incase your computer has been hacked. Last year this PC was hacked, and the mouse started moving all by itself, I yanked the internet connection and it stopped moving.

The PC tech found numerous infections, so I had no choice but to format and start over from scratch.

I have noticed that after a scan of the PC it found nothing wrong but the mouse moves only when I move it. Thank you for your advice guys.

I'd just like to take a moment to point out this: "but the mouse moves only when I move it."

:D
