I picked up a cordless mouse at Best Buy tonight. I'd got it for the extra buttons, to be able to Back/Forward as I surf. Only thing is... It won't work in Firefox. I opened up IE (ugh) and it did work in there, so it's something specific to Firefox. I surfed to the companies website and didn't fine anything about Firefox there.

I called their tech support and talked with 'Herman' from the depths of India:rolleyes: and he was no help. He transferred me to Geek Squad (who wanted personal info I didn't want to give) they couldn't help me and offered to do a Netconference/PCAnywhere type-thing... for a $49 free... (Which is more than I paid for the mouse in the first place.)

Anyone have any ideas? Anyone else use a 5 button mouse with Firefox and can recommend the brand/model?

Thanks!

I have an HP 5 button and it works fine with firefox. I also used to have a Micro Innovations one and it worked fine as well.

Maybe try asking on the firefox forum?

hmmm, I think I've gone through 3 different mice and they always worked with firefox. I'd see if 1) the CD software installed correctly, reinstall if required 2) there are updated drivers available 3) unistall sofwtare received with the mouse and see if it works without the install.
