hello you all. i just bought an axe head at a flee market. it seems fairly modern cast steel stamp says mouse or moose (more likely) 3 1/2.
what's that brand?

Pics of the head/ descriptions of the shape? Also might help to know rough geographical area to narrow down brands
 
hello i am back at it! Well, I made a small misreading! In fact, it should be written Mauser and not Mouse. I don't think it has anything to do with the gun manufacturer, although he made hatchets that could be used as stocks for pistols to use as rifles.
The axe weighs 3 and a half pounds, the weight is specified directly in US pounds, so if it's German it's made for export, especially since it is (was) red like the Council Tools. I only have the head, I made the handle myself.
