Note: literary license. Not really a peanut.
I was perusing a site that sold used knives and came across what looked to be an interesting little Winchester. The sales pic looked about like this:
I like knives with clip and sheepsfoot combinations. They are hard to find in a two blade knives. For five bucks, I decided I should grab this one for a closer look.
When I received it, I was somewhat surprised to see it was black. All black. Everything except for the sections of the blades you can see in the picture above.
The springs were black. The tops of the blades were black.
Even the blade tangs were black:
As the saying used to be, Well! I never!
Whod a thunk it? Its a tactical three inch slipjoint!
The black seems to be electro etched onto those surfaces. Doesnt soften or come off with solvents. The blades are stiff with spring resistance I rate at ~8, but the action is actually smooth. No country of origin on the knife, but my guess is China.
I actually like the knife. The blades take a nice edge, though Im not sure how long they will hold that edge. Overall fit and finish are not anything to write home about. And its put together with Torx screws. But its comfortable in the hand and the pocket. And the blade shapes are good.
If nothing else, its worth a grin.
Explanatory note on title:
Phil Elmore was/is a member here. He was active a number of years ago. He used to write about self-defense using odd items. A couple of the fellas used to tease him about tactical peanuts.
