As I am starting to loose faith in them. You also closed a discussion about aftermarket scales for no good reason too. We were just debating and no name calling or anything was going on. I dont think it is fair to close threads because you dont like people talking about negative aspects of your favorite brand if that is what you are doing. It seems like if you dont agree with what people are saying or it varies from your opinion you just lock the thread. Please unlock my thread so we can continue to discuss things in a civil way. Censorship isnt cool."

so, in case you didn't know, i'm one of the mods here as well as elsewhere. your posts have gone to extremes. that's why they were closed. too many "what ifs" and derailing. seriously, nobody puts their knives in a fire, and expects anything but the the worst. Reductio ad absurdum.

also, as a mod, i can see your edits. not cool. your text here, differs substantially from your newer post in Tech. it won't be deleted, but i will answer you.

one of our rules is "don't sass the mods". don't agree with our decisions? learn how to pm or email (per your hidden edit). you agreed to general forum rules to have an account here. by participating in sub-forums, you agree to those rules too. in case of doubt, guess what? we try to be fair, but you have taken things to extremes.

you have made a lot of claims lately in your less than 190 post career, but you have no photos or proof. most of your posts take the tone of griping, complaints, trolling, and general non positive interaction worst case scenarios. we all have had decades of experience with Becker and many a year with KaBar. we know our stuff and we value our sponsors. coming in with poorly founded speculation and bias isn't a good thing. Insulting the company and its people won't get you far... As if you wanted "good reasons".

if you have a warranty level claim, post pictures, call KaBar and/or Ethan, who you know, reads your stuff too, and make a claim.

i *rarely* lock threads. as it turns out, i've had to lock some threads recently, and oddly enough, you were the cause. think on that one. i even more rarely ban people. it happens.

as a note, you can't be censored in a privately owned forum. there is no right to free speech here. even if you are canadian, which shows you didn't read hte rules. ultimately, it's up to KaBar, Ethan, the ultra cool super mods, and Spark if my interpretation isn't appropriate. it's been reasonably established that disruptive speech is stopped A S A P. you haven't been infracted [yet] or banned. consider that as well in term of "not being harsh" but completely over the top reasonable. anything not deemed appropriate can, should, and will be corrected in this forum.

My post you were talking about was about a chopping block getting accidentally knocked over and your handle touching the hot rocks and melting before you could kick it away, not about putting knives in the fire Bladite. It was just an example to show the difference between thermoset and thermoplastics.

I deleted the post because I found the right area for it. You already answered in the other thread so there was no need to here as this isnt the place for it. I deleted it here for a reason and you didnt need to resurrect it.

I will learn how to use the PM function for next time. Although, I doubt there will be a next time because I have realized it is a waste of my time.

Why would I waste my time bringing up issues that dont exist about a brand that I generally like? I have a life and have better things to do. I dont spend all my time on forums like some people. How do you know how many years of experience with Kabar or Becker I have? Poorly founded speculation and bias eh. The last 4 Kabar knives I have received had one or more of the issues that I listed in my thread and more then one person chimed in. Not to mention the many other post about issues over the years. There was just one in the Becker forum actually about a guy that got a BK 4 that wasnt even sharp for most of the recurved portion.

I would rather use my knives and not have to deal with the down time with a warranty claim. Especially being in Canada and having to deal with customs and the added time the shipping takes. I already ordered a replacement for my BK21 and got another one that was even worse. I kept the first and will resharpen it just because I was sick of the hassle. I also kept another knife(Hinderer Colab) and resharpened the poor grind and just dealt with the uneven swedges and poor sheath, it will likely be sold. My other Kabar's have been sold as well. I will not be buying an more Kabars. They are not up to the level I expect a knife to be at at this price point and I think there are better options, design aside, even at lower price points. Not to mention, I cant take the fanboyism around here. Also, the way people are treated. You cant even talk about any negative aspects about these knives or you get bombarded by fanboys, the thread gets locked and/or you get called a troll and ridiculed. It is sad and I will not give a company like this my money.

Anyway, enough said. I will refrain from posting in these subforums. I dont even know why I wasted my time with this post when the thread never even should have been resurrected in the first place. This discussion should be taking place in the right area that I moved it to. This thread should be deleted imo.
