Well, effective 31 August I will be officially retired from Military Service after 26 years in the world's finest Navy. Today the movers are here packing up our worldly belongings for our final military move to the Fayetteville, NC area, (including all my knifemaking equipment).

Looking forward to whatever the next chapter of life has in store.

Cheers everyone!

Josh

I hope you enjoy whatever it is you end up doing.

Thank you for your time and effort served.

Any boating in your future? 😁

Thank you for your service.
Best wishes for the future.

Well...in my new house now...SANFORD NC!!! Lots of work being done on the second floor, painting, updating, re-decorating!

I would never live in Fayetteville by choice (most of my retired friends picked Florida) but congrats on retiring.

Do you have a second career in mind or are you sticking with retirement?

Looking at contracting or fed employment. Applied to several positions, so far no joy.

Hence the reason we decided not to live in Fayetteville or the closer neighborhoods. We moved to a nice quiet area of Sanford mid way between Bragg and Sandford proper. Easy commute to the base or conveniences in Lillington or Sanford.

A buddy of mine (CSM at 7th Group) gave me the rundown of better areas. I would have like to live in Fuquay or Southern Pines but the cost of living and commute are to high for me.

I hear you man. It can be pretty daunting for people who have spent most of their adult life in uniform (joined out of high school in the late 90s).

Employment can be quite the fight too if you're not lucky enough to have an in. Lots of people out there ready to take advantage of vets.

Good luck with everything! Hope you have a great new part ahead.
We are moving out from our house where we lived for 17 years and it is insane how much stuff we have collected in these years.
If you would have a recommendation for a good moving company i would really appreciate it.

Thank you for your service. Comgrats on the retirement and good luck in your next phase of life.

I'm in the process of my second mil move. You're lucky you don't have to deal with these guys anymore, but you won't find a better price (or more broken stuff in your boxes).
