Movie: "Bringing Out The Dead"

I liked this movie quite a bit. The acting is first-rate, and I would highly recommend it. Some people may only think it's depressing, but I saw Nicholas Cage's character as trying to capture the light in the darkness, so to speak.
Oh, yeah...there's a glimpse of a Buck 112 (thought I'd sneak that in!).

I have been wondering about this movie I see all the Nicolas Cage movies and was going to see it Friday night when it came out and got lazy. Dark huh? I liked 8mm. Then again I like them all. Can you say any more without giving it away?

Well, unlike 8mm this movie has a lot of humor to it, too. I won't give away anything, but will say it is NOT a supernatural-type movie (not really).

Martin Scorsese himself has a small role in the film, and I was surprised that he could act so naturally. He's pretty funny.

I guess what I meant by bringing light into the darkness was the main character is trying to bring good and compassion into what appears a bleak world.

Thanks Jim, I will definetly see it, Me and my wife like to have "Movie and Sushi Dates" once in awhile and this sounds like one coming up.

The book was realy good too. Being in the EMS rat race my self, am definetely going to have to see this one. Later, Jeff
 
Scorcese usually has a small appearance in most of his films, remember the "cheated husband" part he played in Taxi Driver? Too classic and I loved the way he freaked "Travis" out.
 
That's on my list of movies to see before they come out on video.

Like Knife Medic, I'm in EMS myself.
I've heard that Nicholas Cage's character is much more cheerful than I am.

I would like to see this movie, but I don't want to drag my wife through something too special interest and gory.
How would you rate it for non-EMS significant other's.
