This movie went straight to dvd. I rented it the other day. Robert Downey Jr. Val Kilmer. Directed by Shane Black, He wrote the first Lethal Weapon movie. He was also Hawkins (the guy with the dirty jokes) in the first Predator movie.

All in all a pretty good movie. Classic fish out of water private detective movie. Downey, (a petty theif) who through an odd twist of fate ends up in hollywood up for the lead in a private detective movie. He is paired up with a gay private detective, (Kilmer) to get some knowledge of the job. They accidentaly witness a murder and are thrown into the whole mess.

Lots of clever dialog. No super hero antics, just a couple of guys in way over their heads, and there's a girl. I forgot to mention the girl? She is in the middle of murder mystery.

Watched it the other day, pretty funny. I don't think it was direct to video, but it was close. Did nothing in the theater. Val Kilmer was pretty good (I can't quote my favorite lines here, they're too W&C). Whatshername was rather hot too. I'll probably end up buying it if I can find it used.

i don't think it went directly on DVD , as i managed to watch it on theater (in France ! ) It had a really good critic overthere and quite a success.

The girl was same actress that was playing Tom Cruise wife in last MI3.
She is much better in KKBB, as she wore less clothes...(much less )

For those who like Gun over Girls (not my case !) you could see val Kilmer using those really small 22LR guns (i never remember the name of the brand)
