Movie knife : what was used in RESIDENT EVIL ?

I know some of the older and more mature members will laugh at me digging out the computer game movie, bit it was actually quite entertaining :)

I'm curious about the fixed blade knives that the tactical team was using. From the little that I saw of the knives and the sheaths I would guess that they are Cold Steel UWKs...

Can anyone confirm this or offer another opinion?
 
I think they might have been the SOG Seal knives, at least that's what it looked like one of the female characters was using to clean her fingernails.

I saw the movie a several months ago and I remember saying to myself "hey that is the new version of the Kabar (d2)"
 
And in that "laser" sean where the knife was cut in half by the laser I remember the blade fell to the ground and it had those blood grooves/fullers on the blade that Kabars have always had.:) I was hopeing that the actor was going to cut the laser with his knife blade but it didn't work out that way!!!:( :D ;)
 
Milla Jovovich was HOT in the movie.

Andre, I agree with you, the movie was entertaining. Sort of stupidly entertaining in that it had a ridiculous story taken from the games (or so I've heard, I haven't played them), but it was entertaining nonetheless.

And about the knives, sorry, I hadn't yet descended into utter knifenuttiness when I watched the movie. :)
 
There was a moment where the female member of the tac team was cleaning her nails with the knife. Also I recall when the knife that had been cut by the laser fell to the floor. In both cases I recall having seen what looked like a bead blasted coating on the blade. That does not seem the norm for KaBar, so what models would you be venturing a guess at?

I thought the end was quite cool. Actually this is how I remember the game, with the whole world gone to hell and the zombies are everywhere. Also, they way it ended leaves the back door wide open for a sequal ;)
 
Thought about this some more. Condidering that the UWK is a bit small and the bead blasting a lighter shade, I'm rethinking towards the SOG Seal 2000.

SkagSig, why are you so convinced it is a Kabar? What makes it a new version?

Is there anyone else who has a good idea of what knife was used? I'd really like a definitive answer.

Nice detective work you guys. I don't know what knife was in the movie but I just wanted to post that I enjoyed the movie, too. I thought the movie critics were off base in giving the movie a "bum" rating.
