Wow, what an incredible knife. Just got home and unpacked the Movie Model. Beautiful, very well balanced and a hair away from scary sharp. I really like this model. Makes me want to go out and chop something. A large khukuri but very easily handled. Big smooth horn handle, really made for someone with large hands. If possible please let Bura know I am incredibly pleased with his creation. One thing, you need to be really careful putting it back in the sheath. I was very gently working it back in the sheath when I noticed the point poking out the back of the scabbard, with very little pressure applied. Wicked sharp knife.

Here is Uncle Bill's description:

top -- Made by Bura and he calls it a "movie model". Your guess is as good as mine which is he saw this khukuri featured in some Hindi film. Nice khukuri with usual Bura & Co. quality. It is 21 inches and 25 ounces of very fast khukuri. The tip has a double edge. I'll post a pix of it after this post goes up. The buttcap is very unusual -- looks like Bura took a gear out of a clock for a keeper. They continue to amaze me. Karda and chakma are excellently done. Good scabbard by village sarki. Take this movie star home today for $150. UBBB for collector types.

You bet, Beo. Will take some pics tomorrow morning and hopefully figure out how to post them.

you can email them to me and I can post them if you like.

cheers,
B.

For whatever it's worth I discovered that Bura's inspiration for the movie model came from watching the movie, "The Mummy".

I thought so Uncle Bill, the new movie model looks like a sword that was used in the movie. The second movie had a secret tribe of nomadic warriors on horses that used a sword very similar to this one. Several were posted on ebay, hard rubber swords, and I tried several times to purchase one, just to see if it was something that you could duplicate in steel. That would have been the ultimate model to send, actually put together by Hollywood prop makers. Unfortunately, the rubber swords used in the movie always seemed to go for rather large $. Or at least more than I was willing to pay for a rubber sword.

That's exactly what I thought it was, before I read your post, Uncle. It's alot like the swords carried by some of the extras in "The Mummy".

I love the movie model but I'm wondering if the clock gear on the pomel is screwed on or glued on. I love the knife but I'll pass on the gear.

How many movie model's did Bura make? I've got one and wolvesclaw has one so how many more are there? What would the possibility be of getting one with a blade twice as long?

Ask N2s. He knows about such things.

Uncle Bill, what would be the process to get a Movie Model made that has a wooden handle. The perfect size for me would be the same size handle as on my YCS. Do you think that would be feasible? If so, let me know. I really like this model.
