I just finished watching this flick. I've always been into space sci-fi and was kinda surprised I hadn't heard of it when Netflix spit it at me.

its kind of a "30 days of night" meets "Alien: Resurrection" with a little "Event Horizon" mixed in.

My opinion is the same as that about the forementioned "Event Horizon": Not as good as it ought to be. The performances are good (ben foster in particular), the atmosphere is spot on, and the "antagonists" are appropriately menacing. Unfortunately, none of it meshes together well.

Still well worth the rent if you are a fan of the genre.

I think you are spot on with your assessment.

That Foster kid sure can act, I've enjoyed him in most of his roles.

My girl and I both tried really hard to like this film but it just didnt take for some reason.

why do most ship bourne SF tales have this thing 'bout someone or something trying to fail the mission?
l'll tell ya, some plots are so mind bending space and time relative to the a viewers vantage point.

Spoiler!

I really liked the concept of the monsters, the ship having been "out there" for 900 years. Dennis Quaid as the bad guy was also a good idea, but too drawn out. It got me through the blizzard of '09, but was it worth the ten days of late fees? Nope.

Im w/ you on this one...but you should also throw in a dash of The Descent in there... IMO it was like an outterspace descent.. decent...but coulda been better
