Heres a trivia type question to wich i have no answer. I have been trying to figure out what kind of knife the native American point man on the movie Preditor (with Arnold )was carrying. It was a big *** Bowie type knife. I was told that if it has an edge on it the folks on this site will have all the answers.
Theres a good shot of the knife toward the end of the movie when they are "getting to the choppa" and the Native american soldier who was the pointman stays behind on the fallen tree bridge. If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks for any help.

Wow that was fast. My buddy was right about this site. I hope to learn more here. Thanks,
Jess...
Actually heres another one if any readers have a suggestion,
Thanks a lott

wow! they're expensive, and there's no mention of what steel or how sharp the edges are....the commando knives look a lot like the rambo knives and you could get those cheap from AITOR, right?:)

jess, thanks for asking about the predator knife - I've always wanted to know that...now who knows who made the knives for CONAN the BARBARIAN....

I messed something up on my last post .... I meant to add an addisional queastion (The direction my origional post was heading)to whoever might read the post here it is......I am looking for a large , tough bowie. I am looking for a handsome Bowie that will still be practical for heavy duty field use. Thanks for the help,
Jess

Frost made a factory version of Predator machette that I bought around ten years ago for around $200. Its handle was too digging into my palm to swing more than twice into the air, but doesn't matter for a wallhanger. This may be much easier to find these days than Crain's custom machette.

spyken,
According to the web site The Barbarian Keep, Ron Cobb designed the swords and they were made by Jody Samson.

Jess,
There are a lot of bowies out there that would fit your stated needs.
You might want to be more specific, ie: price range, steel type, handle material, blade length, etc. I'm sure you'll get some good suggestions going that route.

Regards,
Greg

Do you mean Billy the American Indian? THere were a couple of Native Americans in the film. Take Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura. They were both born in America making them Native Americans. Arnold wasn't though. Sorry, just a pet peeve. I'm a native American because I was born in Queens, NY.

I am looking for a large ( 10 or more inch blade) Bowie. I really liked the size of the knife "Billy" had in the movie. I would be using it for heavy field use such as light chopping etc. I am also looking for something that has a handsome All American look that I would be proud to carry. I carried my Ka-bar from the Marines for years but it is just too light and small for chopping and such.
Thanks for all your help,
Jess
