movie "Saw"

ok this has been on my mind since highlander endgames......ok for everyone that has seen eather the movie saw or highlander endgames there is this like arm attached blade that droped either threw gravity or some sort of rig what is that called help me this has been such a pain.....ok its in the part of Saw where the drills are going to go into the mans head in the warhouse and in highlander endgames its in the last fight scene........
 
it's simply a device made for movies. It doesn't actually exist.
There was one made for the movie "marathon Man" with dustin Hoffman.
It was made so that as the bad guy pressed his elbow against his ribs it would shoot out...During filming half the time it wouldn't work, and the actor would look like a duck flapping his elbows trying to get the blade to come out.

Quite alright. As was mentioned, nothing of that design is on the open market. If one wanted to tinker with the idea, a gravity or OTF automatic design would be ideal.
