I was searching the forums and I couldn't come up with a contact for this folder or even find a pic of it. Does anyone have a pic even or info on where I could purchase one through the net? Does that maker (dont know exact name) even have a website?

The knife I am speaking of is used by Anthony Hopkins, a Baldwin bro., and another actor in the movie "The Edge". From the forum I picked up it has a 3 3/4" blade and Ats-34 steel. I bet this sucker could save your ass in the bush, any decent folder would be better than a mini swiss army knife. Which in turn would be fabulous compared to nothing but lets get back on track. I would love some contact information if any of you guys have it. Thanks for the time.

The maker's name is Brian Lyttle and he's in Canada. I'm sure someone here will be able to provide you with his website and email address.

I really love that knife, although the $1,800 price tag turned me off a little. I spoke with Bryan and he is a very nice man, and was able to make the knife for around 600, but it wouldn't be a lock back. Hope that helps.

I never really cared for classic Trapper or Stockman style knives - until I saw that movie. Great movie, and great knife!

Too bad about the price and limited production, though. I would rather he did a collaboration with a production company or liscensed it out as such.

I've met Brian at the Ashokan Seminar a few years ago, what a great fellow he is, heavy accent! but a fun guy! And he makes an excellent knife. He had a dagger fixed blade that was a take apart type, fit and finish were great, engraving? This guy can engrave! He talked a little about the movie, it was a lot of fun being on the set he said and I liked the movie as well. He was at Ashokan again this year, but I had to miss it due to my daughter's part in a Christmas play, which was good!
The price is up there but you can count on the knife to be worth it!

It was refreshing to see a movie that revolved around a knife that didn't have to be the size of a machete in order to make it out there in the wilderness....:D

I just pretend that Anthony Hopkins had a Sebenza on him when that plane went down...

He strikes me as a Large Pheasant Tail graphic kind of guy.

Thanks for sharing the info on this particular knife. The sticker price on one of those blades is extreme steep. . .IMO !

Very cool movie though !

And I'm with Professor. . .just not sure if it was a Large Pheasant Tail Sebbie though. ;)

Brian is one of Canada's top makers. His knives are worth the price, I think. But I haven't bought one of his folders yet. One day...

You're right,Professor but You have to remember He didn't pick that knife .His bimbo Wife bought it for Him and I would be supprized if a Woman of Her caliber in real life would make such a decission.tom.

Good movie, good flick but truth be told that basic lockback ain't worth $1800. There were several knives made for that film.
Sharpened knife for cutting
Unsharpened knife for the idiots who can't hold a sharpen knife
Slip joint for the underwater scene
2 extras for giveaways to the brass

You can also see his knives in another movie with Anthony Hopkins. Can't remember the name but it stars Brad Pitt as a turn of the century cowboy and he carries a large bowie. Cool scene at the end when a bear attacks him and he pulls the knife and fights to the death. As a matter of fact, this is how Lyttle got the call for The Edge after making this knife. I read that in Blade a while back.

How true!

not able to speak directly to the Edge folder but most of Brian's Folders are in the $2300 Can range. Not sure if the $1800 was US $ or Can $. If Can $ then that is approx. $1125 US and don't forget, it is a limited edition type of knife with a major profile.

I'm a big fan of Brian's work and will post some urls of knives by him that I own. Each is absolutely impeccable and the newest one

#6 with the flashing "new" on the page is without a flaw and when shown at 5 knifeshows last year to innumerable makers, they were amazed at the quality of design, construction, and engraving done on the knife. Very high praise for a maker to earn.

two dress knives can be seen (# 3, 4 )

#3 was an anniversary gift a few years ago from my wife and #4 is what I call my "using knife" as I use it to show people about custom knives. Click on the main image and then click some more and you will see many facets of the knife.

People at jewellry stores, native american galleries, art galleries and stores etc love to see that knife. It is not intimidating and is a true work of art.

The movie was good and the knife even better. It was a pleasure to see a fine knife as the star of the show and portrayed in a positive light.:)
