I intended to post a new thread in the Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades subforum. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1075936-D-Day Instead I put it into The Community Center. This was on June 6th.

I clicked that Report Post triangle and asked somebody to please move the post. I thought that was the correct procedure.

Apparently I was wrong, since the thread is still where it started. What should I have done?

It may have been determined by the forum specific mods that the thread would have been better is placed in the current location. The thread doesn't appear to be a good fit for Traditional in it's entireity (no specific knife content or anything that could really lead to a discussion of traditional knives), just my thoughts.

If that is so, telling me would have been nice.

The Traditional Forum Mods cannot move a thread into Traditional. We can only move them out. So it wasn't our call.

However, to be truthful, if that post had been placed in Traditional, I would have moved it, likely to "Gadgets and Gear", but "Community" is a fair enough fit.

I thought I was asking the Community Center moderators to move it into Traditional.

Perhaps I should have mentioned the knife—by definition traditional—strapped to that soldier’s ankle?

Your house, your rules.
