Hello everyone. Long time listener first time caller.
I have been collecting knives for quite some time. Until now they have all been production knives, mostly Spyderco and Benchmade. The most I have ever spent on a knife is 220. Recently I've had a little bit of some disposable income so I thought I would take the leap and purchase something in the 400-450 range and was looking at midtech/semi-custom knives. There are a few knives that have caught my attention and would like all your advice and opinions to help me take the final plunge. A few things before I list the knives:
1. I can only afford one
2. This knife will be carried and used (not just some pocket candy)
3. Customer service is important to me.
4. Lastly I don't want any blade play or it being off center. I understand that a tiny bit isn't that big a deal when dealing with a production knife but I personally think it is unacceptable when I'm dealing with a product I'm dropping 400 plus dollars on.
Anyway here is what I'm looking at in no particular order.
1. The Medford 187 DP.
2. The ADV Butcher midtech
3. The Chaves Redencion 228 midtech
4. The Ferrum Forge Ferox
5. Lastly the Sebenza 21
I look forward to the feed back from you guys. Also If you have any other suggestions please let me know!
Thanks everyone.
